Book a Couple’s Spa Treatment on a Honeymoon Cruise
Nothing says I love you more than rubbing mud on each other. Today’s cruise ships have state-of-the-art spa facilities, with many of them offering a Rasul, a private mud bath and aromatherapy room. And Carnival Cruise Lines has some of the biggest spas afloat to cater to spa-lovers. Their 21,000 square-foot Cloud 9 Spa on the Carnival Splendor features couples’ VIP Suites and a salt water thalassotherapy pool fortified with vitamins.
Reserve a Romantic Dinners on a Honeymoon Cruise
It may be difficult to reserve a table for two in the main dining room, since most of the tables are set for four, six, and eight persons. For a more intimate experience, passengers need to spend a little extra money to eat at one of the specialty restaurants onboard. For example, Holland America Line’s award-winning Pinnacle Grill has an elegant atmosphere with fine china, Riedel crystal, attentive service and artistically plated menu items ($20 per person, excluding wine).
Romantic Suites for a Honeymoon Cruise
Stay in a suite on a honeymoon cruise with its added space and amenities. Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Courtyard Villas are some of the most romantic suites at sea with around 500 square feet of luxury plus a balcony. The Courtyard Villa Complex surrounds a private Bali-styled pool area away from the rest of the ships’ passengers, and guests in these suites enjoy their own suite menu (private dining), butler and concierge service.

Couples that play together, stay together. When Royal Caribbean International launches the Oasis of the Seas in December 2009, it will feature another industry first, a zipline. Other couples’ activities include challenging your partner on the climbing wall, ice skating, rollerblading, surfing on the Flowrider simulator, or just playing a round of mini golf.

Most of the cruise lines offer some sort of Anniversary Package for couples to enjoy on their cruise. Celebrity Cruises’ Premium Romance Package features a mimosa breakfast for two in bed, dinner in one of the specialty restaurants, and a turndown service that includes rose petals sprinkled on the bed, chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne ($225 USD per couple).
Renewal of Vows on a Cruise
Whether it’s spur of the moment or a planned renewal, choosing to tie the knot again, requires a celebration. Many of Princess Cruises’ ships have their own wedding chapel to perform weddings or rewal of vows. Princess’ Deluxe Renewal of Vows package includes a ceremony conducted by the Captain plus numerous extras such as a bottle of champagne with two souvenir wine glasses and spa treatments ($485 USD per couple).
